Man United star hits back at Ten Hag with explosive statement after he was dropped vs Arsenal

Following his absence from Manchester United’s Sunday match against Arsenal, Jadon Sancho made a surprising statement. United suffered a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal due to late strikes from Declan Rice and Gabriel Jesus. Martin Odegaard quickly equalized after Marcus Rashford gave Erik ten Hag’s team an early lead. Alejandro Garnacho scored what seemed to be a late winning goal, but VAR ruled him offside. With two late goals from Rice and Jesus, the Red Devils went from believing they had won to losing the game 3-1.

Understandably disappointed by the outcome, Ten Hag criticized the offside call after the game. He mentioned that his team should have been awarded a penalty and that Rice’s goal should not have stood due to a foul on Jonny Evans. He also had some comments specifically about Jadon Sancho. The Dutchman explained the winger’s complete exclusion from the squad as a result of his performance in training.

In response, Sancho has now issued a strong statement. He posted the following on social media: “Please don’t believe everything you read! I have conducted myself quite nicely in training this week, so I won’t stand for anyone stating things that are wholly wrong. I won’t go into additional reasons why I think there are more, but for the longest time, I’ve been made to feel like the victim—which is unfair! My only goal in life is to play football, have fun, and support my team. I play alongside amazing guys and am grateful to be able to do so, even though I know every week is a challenge. I appreciate all decisions made by the coaching staff. I’m going to keep fighting for this badge no matter what!”

Jadon Sancho—what happened to him?
Manchester United won the competition to sign him in the summer of 2021 following his breakout season at Borussia Dortmund as one of the biggest talents in international football. They reportedly paid £73 million to secure the Englishman on a five-year contract. However, Sancho’s experience at Old Trafford hasn’t gone as expected. In his rookie season, he scored just five goals in 38 appearances across all competitions. In the previous season, Ten Hag managed him to score seven goals in 41 games, although he was frequently benched. This season, he came on as a substitute against Wolves, Tottenham, and Nottingham Forest after failing to start the first three games. However, he was completely left out of the squad against Arsenal. Although Sancho insists it wasn’t due to his training performances, Ten Hag maintains that it was. The saga surrounding this situation is far from over.
