Man Utd receive major boost ahead of Man City derby

With manager Erik ten Hag expressing “hopefulness” that forward Marcus Rashford would be healthy for the match against Manchester City, Manchester United has received a big boost ahead of the forthcoming Premier League derby.

On October 2, Man United will take on Pep Guardiola’s Man City.

After defeating Premier League leaders Arsenal 3-1 at Old Trafford at the beginning of September, Ten Hag’s team earned their fourth straight league victory.

However, Man United’s momentum has subsequently stopped as a result of the subsequent postponements of their matches against Crystal Palace and Leeds United due to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning monarch in British history.

Rashford has been absent from Man U’s matches against Real Sociedad and Sheriff Tiraspol.

After suffering a muscular injury during Man United’s triumph over Arsenal, the England international was forced to sit out both contests.

Rashford was not included in England’s final roster prior to the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.

But according to ESPN, Rashford’s injury is not considered to be significant by Man United’s medical staff, and they are sure he will be ready for the Manchester derby after the break.
