Manchester United most concrete option for centre-back – Red Devils is after him since 2018

Reports suggest that Manchester United are actively considering the acquisition of a new central defender, and one potential candidate is Jean-Clair Todibo.

Sacha Tavolieri shared this update on Monday via Twitter, indicating that Todibo could be on Manchester United’s radar for a defensive signing.

Uncertainty surrounds the future of Harry Maguire, especially since Bruno Fernandes was recently appointed captain by Erik ten Hag. Talks of Maguire’s potential departure have led to discussions about recruiting a replacement.

Although Axel Disasi had been closely monitored for some time, Chelsea swiftly secured his signing due to Wesley Fofana’s injury. As a result, Todibo has emerged as a viable option for Manchester United.

According to the journalist’s information, the most feasible scenario for Todibo’s departure from OGC Nice currently points towards a move to Old Trafford.

Furthermore, it is reported that Manchester United is considering Todibo as a contingency plan should Maguire decide to leave the club in the forthcoming weeks.

This isn’t the first instance of Todibo being linked with Manchester United. Their interest in him has been documented since 2018, as evidenced by articles in Sport Witness’ archives.

Recent reports also indicate that Ten Hag had listed both Todibo and Disasi as potential targets, but with Disasi no longer available, Todibo has emerged as the new focus for the Premier League side.
