Manchester United Nearing £26 Million Star Signing with Agreed Personal Terms

In the wake of Donny van de Beek’s imminent departure, Football Transfers reveals that Manchester United is drawing closer to securing Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina.

Constrained by financial considerations, Manchester United is compelled to offload players before making new acquisitions. Having already brought in Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Rasmus Hjlund, the club has invested £166 million in three fresh additions.

Following a successful debut season that saw them secure the Carabao Cup and a Champions League berth, manager Erik ten Hag is resolute in bolstering his squad for multi-front competition in the upcoming campaign.

Expressing his vision for enhanced depth and competitiveness in every position, Ten Hag communicated to Sky Sports via the Mirror:

“Given the number of matches we need to contend with, we must have depth in every role. Competition is imperative, as we face suspensions, injuries, and variations in player form. I require skilled players, but the right mindset is equally indispensable.”

Reports indicate that Ten Hag is pursuing another central midfielder, and Amrabat has emerged as a prominent candidate. However, United’s ability to accommodate new signings hinges on shedding surplus players to generate additional funds.

Trimming the Roster

Ten Hag has designated Van de Beek, Scott McTominay, Harry Maguire, and Fred as expendable. The sale of Maguire has been negotiated between Manchester United and West Ham United, culminating in an approximately £30 million deal. Maguire, having trained with the first team on Wednesday, is set to undergo a medical examination.

Van de Beek is reportedly courted by Real Sociedad, with the La Liga side contemplating a loan move with a buyout option at the campaign’s end.

Both Galatasaray and Fulham have expressed interest in Fred. Discussions between Manchester United and Fulham for the Brazilian midfielder have reportedly been reopened.

The potential acquisition of Amrabat hinges on Manchester United’s ability to garner funds through Maguire’s sale and the departures of Fred and van de Beek.

Reportedly, personal terms with the Moroccan player have already been agreed upon, indicating Manchester United’s progress towards securing the Fiorentina talent.

Should United successfully finalize the deal for Amrabat, a Moroccan midfielder valued at £26 million by Transfermarkt, it would be a notable addition. Amrabat played 49 matches across all competitions, contributing one assist, as Fiorentina secured an eighth-place finish in Serie A and advanced to the UEFA Europa Conference League final.
