Manchester United offer for €86,000-a-week Star player will almost certainly arrive on Saturday – He only has OT move ‘in mind’
Yesterday, reports from Italy indicated that Rasmus Højlund is set to be sold to Manchester United for approximately €70 million in the coming days. However, later the same day, claims from France emerged, suggesting that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) had made an offer and that the striker had reached an agreement with both PSG and Manchester United.
Alfredo Pedullà, a journalist, refuted the French claims, stating that Atalanta, Højlund’s current club, has not received an offer from PSG. He further asserted that the 20-year-old’s preference is to join Manchester United instead of moving to the French capital. It has been widely reported that the Denmark international has an agreement in place with the Premier League side.
Pedullà mentioned that Manchester United has been somewhat evasive in their approach lately, likely because they are aware that Højlund is set on joining their club and has no other preferred destination in mind.
Atalanta has requested a transfer fee of €70 million plus €5 million in bonuses and is currently awaiting the official offer from Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United. According to Pedullà, this offer is highly likely to arrive by Saturday.
Initially, Manchester United made a verbal offer of €40 million plus bonuses. However, another journalist named Rudy Galetti shared on Twitter that the English club is prepared to improve the proposal, potentially raising it to €55 million plus €10 million, in an attempt to come closer to Atalanta’s demands for Højlund’s transfer fee.
