N’Golo Kante was not part of the 22-man squad which travelled to Milan.
Kante just resumed training after being out since leaving the game against Tottenham on August 14 due to a hamstring issue.
But he skipped today’s practice and, like the injured Wesley Fofana and Hakim Ziyech, will not play tomorrow.
Due to Kante’s history with injuries, Potter advised last week that it is crucial to delay the midfielder’s return.
“He is integrating himself more with the group. He’s approaching, “Potter stated.
“It is our goal to bring him back in shape and as prepared as we can so that he can continue to play for an extended length of time.
“We need to make sure that when he returns, he will be back permanently because he has been in and out due to injuries.
“I want to make sure the guy is secure and prepared to play steadily for a while,” the coach said.
