“No one can miss pre-season” – Ten Hag reveals why Ronaldo is not playing for Man Utd
Cristiano Ronaldo’s lack of playing time this season, according to Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag, may be a result of him skipping pre-season.
Only four of Ronaldo’s starts for United this year have come from the front.
The 37-year-old has scored just two goals this season, three of which have come in the Europa League.
Ten Hag has finally acknowledged that his insufficient preseason is the cause of his low playing time thus far.
Ten Hag stated: “He is getting in better shape now and I am glad with that, so he can contribute more to the squad,” prior to their Europa League matchup against Onomia.
“I’m confident he will because preseason has never been missed before,”
