Player currently undergoing medical ahead of Chelsea transfer – “Will then sign five-year contract”

After Wesley Fofana suffered a serious injury that will keep him out of action for an extended period, Chelsea recognized the need for a new center-back. They swiftly turned their attention to AS Monaco’s Axel Disasi, and a deal was quickly arranged between the two clubs.

Although the agreement was announced some time ago, there have been recent developments, as reported by L’Equipe on Tuesday. Disasi has now traveled to London to finalize his transfer to Chelsea. The clubs agreed on a €45m fee for the defender, and he is currently undergoing his medical examination. Once completed, he is expected to sign a five-year contract with the Stamford Bridge side.

Disasi will reunite with his former teammate Benoît Badiashile at Chelsea, who was signed by the club last season.

During the previous season, Disasi made 49 appearances for AS Monaco across all competitions and held the position of vice-captain, highlighting his importance to the team. While his departure is undoubtedly a loss for the French club, they can take some consolation in the €45m they received from the transfer.
