The forward for Poland, Robert Lewandowski, has revealed what he said to Lionel Messi during the 2022 World Cup match against Argentina.
As the game progressed, the two players faced off.
After the Argentine left for Paris Saint-Germain in 2021, Lewandowski joined Barcelona, and Messi did not appreciate having his shirt pulled.
Lewandowski has since discussed what actually happened.
We spoke briefly, and it was enjoyable, he told BILD.
Messi was playing more defensively than usual, and I told him that sometimes the team needs him to play that way.
“That was very strange, yes,” Lewandowski continued, “but I knew I had to help the team. I was in the middle of the pitch defending.”
