After Gabriel Jesus scored against Chelsea in Arsenal’s preseason friendly Florida Cup final 4-0 victory a few days ago, Brazil icon Rivaldo has revealed what he said to the forward.
After Arsenal defeated Chelsea, Rivaldo claimed he spoke with Jesus and wished the Brazilian forward the best of luck.
According to DAILY POST, Jesus recently transferred from Manchester City to Arsenal.
“I spoke with Jesus after the Chelsea game, wishing him the best in this new part of his career, admiring his skills as a player, and telling him to keep focused to start the new season very strongly,” Rivaldo said in a statement to Betfair.
He continued, “His success with the Brazilian national team in the World Cup will undoubtedly depend on how he starts at the club.
I can only hope that he performs well for the Gunners early on, beginning when Arsenal travels to Crystal Palace the following Friday, and that he arrives in Qatar in fine shape as Brazil attempts to win a sixth World Cup.
