Gabriel Martinelli’s goal that was disallowed in the 3-1 loss, according to Scholes, was ‘ludicrous.

Martinelli, a Brazilian international, thought he had given the visitors the lead in the first half, but referee Paul Tierney reversed the goal using VAR.

On Premier League Production, Scholes stated, “I believe it’s quite soft. “It is his assessment of the foul. It’s ten yards to him. He doesn’t consider it to be a foul. Go to someone else, and you’ll get a different response.

“It’s absurd; it shouldn’t have returned. I don’t think it’s improper. Arsenal might be a touch unfortunate, in my opinion.

Mikel Arteta’s perfect start to the season was broken by the loss at Old Trafford, which also moved Manchester United three points closer to the top of the league.
