Ten Hag still dealing with transfer of top striker to Manchester United – Club happy to sell him late in window

Manchester United is seeking to strengthen their attacking options, prompted by Erik ten Hag’s request for a new No.9.

As reported by Bild, the Red Devils’ manager is currently dealing with the potential acquisition of Eintracht Frankfurt’s standout striker, Randal Kolo Muani. Last season, Muani impressively scored 23 goals and provided 17 assists in 46 games.

While the club’s current owners, the Glazers, are in the process of selling Manchester United, the final outcome of the sale is still uncertain. This has left the Premier League side unsure about their financial capacity to make a substantial signing, with the reported price for the French international being over €100m.

Markus Krösche, the sporting director of Eintracht Frankfurt, has acknowledged the possibility of Muani staying at the club for one more season. However, he also hasn’t ruled out the potential of a late transfer if a tempting offer, likely around €100m, is presented.

As of now, Kolo Muani has not received any offers from other clubs. Bild explains that Eintracht Frankfurt would be willing to allow the player to leave late in the transfer window, provided they receive an offer in the vicinity of €100m.

It’s worth noting that Randal Kolo Muani is not the only striker on Ten Hag’s radar. Manchester United is also reportedly interested in Atalanta’s forward, Rasmus Højlund, who is considered a more budget-friendly option compared to the Frenchman, though less prolific in terms of scoring.
