“These are the consequences” – Pochettino does not trust Chelsea player, despite team going through ‘disaster’

In 2022, Chelsea made a £55 million investment to acquire Marc Cucurella, and he completed his first season with the club, making 33 appearances.

However, things have taken a significant turn for the left-back in the current season, as he has been limited to just one appearance. This solitary appearance occurred during the EFL Cup victory over AFC Wimbledon back in August.

It’s worth noting that Chelsea is currently going through a challenging period, described as a “disaster.” AS has pointed out that Mauricio Pochettino’s decision to not utilize Cucurella is noteworthy, given the circumstances.

Chelsea has managed to secure only one win in their last six league games and has suffered home defeats against Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa. As a result, they find themselves in 14th place in the table, trailing fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur by nine points.

During the last transfer window, Cucurella came close to moving to Manchester United on loan but ultimately opted to remain at Stamford Bridge. According to the report, the 25-year-old is now dealing with the consequences of not actively seeking a transfer, as Pochettino evidently lacks trust in him. The report further suggests that Cucurella’s current situation at Stamford Bridge is transitioning from an unusual one to a very serious one.

If Cucurella continues to struggle for regular playing time at Chelsea over the next three months, he may be compelled to seek a solution in the January transfer window.
