Tuchel speaks on Kounde’s deal after 4-0 defeat to Arsenal
There has been no change in Chelsea’s pursuit of Jules Kounde, according to manager Thomas Tuchel.
After their 4-0 loss to Arsenal in a preseason friendly in Florida, US, Tuchel was speaking.
Only Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly have been added to the Blues’ third-place team from the previous season.
After the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, Tuchel has been eager to bolster his defense.
Their next target has emerged as Kounde, but Chelsea will have to compete with Barcelona to sign the Frenchman.
“Koundé deal?” yelled Tuchel. I have nothing new.
“We urgently needed quality players, and there were a ton of great players available.
“We have two fantastic players, without a doubt, but we aren’t as competitive as we could be, as you saw see today.”
