“We can’t pay huge fee” – Club interested in signing Chelsea star warns Chelsea
Inter Milan’s CEO, Beppe Marotta, has cautioned Chelsea not to anticipate a significant sum for the transfer of their striker, Romelu Lukaku.
Chelsea acquired Lukaku from Inter Milan in the summer of 2021 for £98 million and now desires to sell the striker after his year-long loan spell at Inter Milan.
Inter Milan has expressed interest in securing Lukaku on loan for another season, but Chelsea is only willing to consider a permanent transfer for the striker.
Marotta, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano, stated: “Chelsea needs to make a decision regarding Lukaku. It’s only natural that they cannot put him on the market and expect a substantial transfer fee.
“It’s not a coincidence that the offer from Saudi Arabia for Lukaku was approximately €50 million.”
