“We disappointed ourselves and i’m also disapointed” – Ten Hag reacts to Man United 3-1 defeat to Wrexham

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has responded to his team’s 3-1 loss against Wrexham AFC in a friendly match on Tuesday.

Manchester United suffered a 3-1 defeat at the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, and Ten Hag remarked that it was a valuable learning experience for the young squad.

Prior to the match, it was agreed upon that the Red Devils would field a youthful team against Wrexham, who had recently secured promotion to League Two after a 15-year wait.

Wrexham’s Elliot Lee and Aaron Hayden scored to put them 2-0 ahead before Marc Jurado pulled one back for Manchester United just before halftime.

However, the young Red Devils were reduced to ten men following Jurado’s red card, and Wrexham’s Sam Dalby capitalized on the situation, making it 3-1 for the opposition.

Reflecting on the game, Ten Hag expressed disappointment with the team’s performance in the first half, noting that they lacked structure and did not achieve some of their objectives for the match.

He acknowledged that this experience was an important part of their development as players in men’s football and emphasized the value of learning from the negative result. Despite the loss, the manager saw it as an opportunity for growth and improvement.
