According to Football London, Chelsea will attempt to acquire Brentford goalkeeper David Raya this summer.

Raya, who is under contract with Brentford until 2024, has previously turned down two new contract offers from the club, despite interest from Chelsea.

This season, the 27-year-old has been one of Brentford’s standout players, making a series of key stops to enable Thomas Frank’s team frequently finish in the top half of the Premier League standings.

Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing the 27-year-old goalkeeper this summer.

Speaking on his future lately, Raya stated as per The Telegraph: “I don’t believe it’s the appropriate time to sign a contract at the moment.

“I’m very, really thrilled and right now, I’m just thinking about doing the best for the squad and trying to push for Europe.

“I was given a new contract last year and another in January, but we couldn’t come to terms,” he continued. “For the time being, a new contract is secondary. The team and the games are the most significant aspects. We’ll see how things go in May.”
