Mauricio Pochettino expressed his satisfaction with Cole Palmer’s performance in Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Fulham on Saturday.
Palmer delivered the decisive goal in the Blues’ 21st Premier League match of the season, showcasing a much-improved display compared to his previous outing. In Tuesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final loss to Middlesbrough, the 21-year-old had missed several opportunities.
Speaking about Palmer after the Fulham win, Pochettino stated, “I think we believe in him, even when he does not score and misses big chances like he did against Middlesbrough. We are always going to be disappointed because we believe in him, and he has the quality to play. I think it’s important for young guys like him to feel the support from the coaching staff, the club, and his teammates.”
Highlighting Palmer’s youth and the fact that this is his first season playing consistently every week, Pochettino emphasized the significance of believing in him and providing the necessary confidence for his development.
