“We need to improve” Ten Hag identifies areas Man United need to improve after Real Madrid defeat

Following Manchester United’s 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid in a pre-season friendly, manager Erik ten Hag has identified the areas that need improvement for his team.

Ten Hag specifically pointed out that the Red Devils should work on their pressing and goal-scoring abilities. He also highlighted certain players, namely Marcus Rashford, Scott McTominay, and Alejandro Garnacho, who missed one-on-one opportunities during the match.

Real Madrid secured the victory with goals from Jude Bellingham and Joselu at the NRG Stadium in the early hours of Thursday. While Manchester United had their own chances, they were unable to convert any of their 14 attempts into goals during the game.

Speaking after the match, Ten Hag emphasized the need for better pressing from the start of the game and the importance of capitalizing on one-on-one situations. He expressed the desire for more players capable of thriving in such scenarios and converting those opportunities into goals, particularly referencing the missed chances by Rashford, McTominay, and Garnacho.
