“We shall see” £80m player hints he will leave this summer after being linked with Chelsea

Chelsea’s top target Moises Caicedo may have made a hint that he would leave Brighton this summer.

Moises Caicedo was a big topic of conversation during the January transfer window. He renewed his contract with Brighton last month.

In an interview with The Telegraph this week, the 21-year-old midfielder admitted that he was “really close” to joining Arsenal in January.

He has made more comments that seem to hint he may yet decide to depart the Amex Stadium at the conclusion of this season.

According to Caicedo, who was reported by The Telegraph, “I just want to have a really good season with Brighton now, to finish off the season well and play really well, and then we’ll see what happens next season.”

Fair enough, the Gunners are now in first place in the Premier League and will participate in the Champions League the next season. Stamford Bridge, in contrast, doesn’t seem to be hosting any European football in the 2023–24 season.

According to the Daily Mail in March, Chelsea doesn’t think Caicedo’s new deal will have any impact on their prospects of signing him. Brighton will be in a better position to demand their £80 million valuation, the article claims.

Caicedo seems destined to compete at the highest level when you watch him play.

It’s vital to remember that his Brighton club will play in the FA Cup semifinals this weekend. They will almost certainly finish this season’s Premier League in the top four as well.

He is a versatile defensive midfielder who excels at stifling play and can play anywhere on the field.

He appears to be the most like N’Golo Kante that we have seen, which is the highest praise we can give him.
