“Yes, it is written into the contract” – Shakhtar CEO reveals what Chelsea must do after signing Mudryk which is among the €100million deal

As part of the €100 million agreement to recruit Mykhaylo Mudryk, Shakhtar Donetsk CEO Sergei Palkin has disclosed Chelsea are required to face Shakhtar Donetsk in a friendly in the Donbass.

Yes, it is stated in the contract, Palkin remarked in an interview with The Athletic. But in reality, Behdad communicated with our president, so we didn’t even need to read it in the contract.

“Behdad loves Ukraine a lot because he’s American and it’s an English team. For us, this is a good triangle since, at the present, our support for the conflict depends on England and Ukraine. They shook hands and had a great conversation.

“I am aware because I translated. It didn’t matter to me whether it was in the contract or not because I really enjoyed the chat.

“Behdad was the one who suggested [the friendly] because he claimed he wanted to support the Ukrainian people, help Ukrainian refugees, and help Ukraine.

“For us, winning this game in Donetsk would be a miracle” (having not played in their home city since 2014). If we could, we’d play this game every weekend.
