Reece James, a star for Chelsea, responded to recent mistakes made by Harry Maguire, the captain of Manchester United.
James is standing up for under-fire Maguire, who had a tough night against Germany on Wednesday night in the Nations League at Wembley.
Gareth Southgate, the manager of England, has continued to believe in Maguire despite losing his spot in the Manchester United starting lineup.
In yesterday night’s thrilling 3-3 draw, Maguire committed a serious error by giving up the second-half penalty that enabled Germany to get on the board first.
After the game, James was questioned about how the locker room responded to Maguire’s most recent mistake.
“I don’t think you need to be told when you make a mistake while playing,” he remarked. I believe you are wise enough to recognize your error on your own and do not require more explanation.
Harry hasn’t had a lot of playing time this year. He hasn’t quite found his rhythm yet. We are aware of his quality. There is no question. It’s just a small step up, and I have no doubt that Maguire and Pope will recover and become stronger.
