“You need to do this first” Benfica reveal what Todd Boehly must do before they accept Chelsea’s offer for Enzo Fernandez

For the signing of Benfica midfielder and Argentina World Cup standout Enzo Fernandez, Chelsea has made a bid of between €127 and €130 million.

Because Chelsea wants to pay the transfer money in installments, they have made an offer that is higher than his €120 million release clause.

Ben Jacobs, a transfer analyst, claims that although Benfica is willing to accept Chelsea’s offer of payment in installments, the Portuguese club is demanding a larger upfront sum.

Chelsea, though, continues to adhere to the club’s policy of paying Fernandez’s transfer price in three equal installments.

“Chelsea and Benfica have additional (and lengthy) conversations last night regarding Enzo Fernandez,” Jacobs tweeted. There are still some important differences.

“Benfica are willing to sell in a contract broken up into several payments, but they requested a larger down payment.

Due to the strength of the whole offer (far above the current market value) and FFP regulations, Chelsea is maintaining their stance.

Deal is still in the early stages, and Chelsea is still optimistic because everyone feels pressure to find a solution. But before anything could be done, negotiations were required on Wednesday.
