“He is overweight, He can’t play for me” – Guardiola slams England star

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has criticized Kalvin Phillips, claiming the England star cannot play for his club because he returned from the 2022 World Cup overweight.

Guardiola claimed that the Englishman’s weight made him “unable to train.”

Surprisingly, Phillips wasn’t part of Guardiola’s team that defeated Liverpool 3-2 in the Carabao Cup on Thursday.

Philips only saw action for 40 minutes for the Three Lions during the World Cup before they were eliminated by France in the quarterfinals.

Prior to their Premier League match on Boxing Day, Guardiola informed the media on Friday, “He is not hurt, he arrived overweight.

“I have no idea why he is overweight. He didn’t come in the right circumstances to play and participate in practices.

He cannot play because of this.
