“I like him a lot” – Liverpool coach, Klopp on Arsenal star
Jurgen Klopp, the head coach of Liverpool, has expressed his admiration for Martin Odegaard, the captain of Arsenal.
Additionally, Klopp disclosed that when he was in charge of Bundesliga team Borussia Dortmund, he had previously tried to sign Odegaard.
Odegaard, who was only 15 years old at the time, remained in Norway before joining Real Madrid in 2015.
Speaking to TV2, Klopp remarked, “I like him a lot, that is simple at the moment, I think,” as reported by Metro.
“At the beginning of his career at Madrid, things were a little more challenging; it didn’t seem like it would work out.
“I was really sad about that,” he said, “because we wanted him at Dortmund, we wanted him as well when he was very young. We had a long chat with his parents when he was still a youngster, and in the end, he went for Madrid, which is great.
